Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has rubbished reports linking the club with signing Brazilian wonder-kid Bernard.
The Brazilian, who featured a couple of times for the nation at the Confederations Cup, has been strongly linked with a move to England and has been monitored by both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, but it appeared that Arsenal had won the race to his signature.
However despite reports suggesting that the 20-year-old was about to have a medical at the club, the Arsenal boss has categorically denied all reports linking the north London club with a move for the playmaker.
The highly-rated winger was rumoured to be on Wenger's radar this summer as he looks to strengthen his side ahead of the new season, but it doesn't look like he is interested in the Brazilian despite the original reports.
A French magazine first stated that a deal had been agreed between the two clubs and that personal terms were also finalised with a medical expected to take place on Friday afternoon, but after giving an interview to The Mirror, Arsene Wenger denied the reports and rubbished all the talks linking the Brazilian with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
When asked about the Bernard move, Wenger responded with:
"That report is not true".
It is now reported that both Premier League sides Liverpool and Tottenham will pursue his signature, but they will also face competition against Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund, Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk and Portuguese side FC Porto.
