Manchester City midfielder Emyr Huws will hold talks with Manuel Pellegrini before making a decision on his immediate future.
The 19-year-old midfielder is currently part of the Chilean's pre-season squad that is touring Hong Kong and South Africa, suggesting that he very well may be part of the first-team squad next season.
Huws impressed the Manchester City bosses last season, when he was sent to Northampton Town on a three-month loan deal. He impressed under the guidance of Aidy Boothroyd, in what was his first taste of professional first-team football. And the form shown at Northampton Town may be enough to see Huws promoted to first-team action next season.
But despite his involvement in the pre-season tour, Huws appreciates that this does not guarantee him a place in the first-team for the 2013-2014 Premier League campaign.
City's spending power has meant that many academy prospects have not been given the opportunity to progress into the starting eleven.
But Huws also knows that going out on-loan could be another positive step for his career.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Huws said: "It's a great chance for me to make an impact. I am not expecting too much from this season. I just want to improve myself, and work day by day to try and get more opportunities.
"I will have a better idea of what next season holds for me when I get back - whether I go on loan again or stick with the U21s for a bit."
