Published Add your comment

Bournemouth are close to completing an audacious move to bring former England midfielder Darren Anderton to Dean Court.

The 34-year-old is a free agent after being released by Wolves at the end of last season and is currently in talks over a move to the cash-strapped League One side. Anderton, who is based in Dorset, was a guest of new Cherries chairman Abdul Jaffer´s at Saturday´s 3-2 win over Oldham and his agent, Leon Angel, has confirmed discussions are taking place.

"We are in talks with Bournemouth," Angel told PA Sport. "Darren wants to continue playing. He´s got other options but he is quite taken with the idea of playing for his hometown club."
