Stevan Jovetic was one of the first strikers tipped to move to Arsenal in recent weeks, but the deal appeared to falter after some dispute started over the asking price for the Montenegro international. The price appeared to be within the asking area of around £25m to which the Gunners had quite some trouble being able to agree with Fiorentina.
Instead of the club being able to carry on negotiating with the club over the transfer, the media appeared to have no idea of what was going on between the two clubs, eventually dropping off of the topic completely.
Since then, the striker has completed a £22m move to Manchester City. This begs the question as to how City managed to knock £3m from the asking price, even when they are always willing to throw money around when it comes to situations such as this.
