4. Edin Dzeko
Edin Dzeko was another striker who was linked with Arsenal very early in the transfer window. This speculation regarding this deal came from Manchester City wanting to have a ‘clear out’ at the start of the window which gave Arsenal the chance to move in and try and prize Dzeko away from City on the cheap.
About £13m was the expected fee for the frontman. But, yet again, a deal like this failed to ever materialise and instead of any City strikers moving to London, Carlos Tevez moved away to Juventus instead, probably to pave the way for Stevan Jovetic to take his place as a ‘gifted youngster’ if ever there was one in the form of a striker at City; where he is destined to join Jack Rodwell on the bench.
