Andre Villas-Boas has recently conveyed that Roberto Soldado is not the only player he is interested in.
A revamp in Tottenham Hotspur's strike force was expected this season, and it looks likely that they will strengthen their attack with the addition of two forwards.
The leading candidates predicted for White Hart Line are Valencia's Roberto Soldado and Olympic Lyonnais striker Lisandro Lopez, according to the Daily Mirror.
Spurs' technical director Franco Baldini is in Spain currently, having discussions with Soldado's agent and Valencia officials. A club record bid of £20 million or more is quoted for his services.
It now looks like Spurs will not settle with a single addition to their strike force and have started discussions with Lyon. Argentine striker Lisandro Lopez, who has just a year left on his contract is mooted as the target.
The 30-year-old, who scored goals for fun in Spain, Portual and France, is looking for a move to the English Premier League. It is believed that he had talks with his former team mate Hugo Lloris, and seemed to be convinced by the Frenchman to opt for Tottenham.
Lopez has scored 59 goals in 119 League appearances for Lyon and will be a good addition to the north-Londoners.
The striker's versatility, which enables him to play across the front three, will be an added bonus for Andre Villas-Boas' side as last season they relied heavily on Gareth Bale for goals. They are already adding goalscoring winger Nacer Chadli to their ranks and a move for Valencia's Soldado is plotted next along with Lisandro Lopez.
With only a year left on his contract, Tottenham will be fancying their chances to land the seven times capped Argentine international for relatively little cost. Lopez was a target of Spurs last January as well, and a failed bid was registered on transfer deadline day according to some sources.
With the two attacking additions plotted, the future of Jermain Defoe will also come under speculation along with the seemingly exit bound Emmanuel Adebayor.
Can Tottenham Hotspur complete a double-swoop for the strikers this summer? Can the 30-year-old solve the striking conundrum at Spurs?
