Barcelona have told Manchester United and David Moyes that Cesc Fabregas is not available for a transfer this summer, according to talkSPORT.

United have already submitted two bids for the former Arsenal man, but have seen both knocked back by Catalans based side.

Moyes is looking to rebuild his side for next seasons campaign, and Fabregas was identified as a top transfer priority. But this looks set to change as Barcelona bosses have decided that their midfielder will not be available for transfer this summer.

United turned their full attention to Fabregas following Thiago Alcantara's move to Bayern Munich earlier this month. Fabregas' former colleague linked back up with former Nou Camp boss Pep Guardiola and, as a result, David Moyes diverted his attention to Fabregas.

It seems that a bid in excess of £30m will not be enough to prise Fabregas away from the Nou Camp next season, so Moyes may have to turn to a different player once again. Barcelona president Sandro Rossell sees Fabregas as a key player for this side, despite the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets often dominating the midfield on a weekly basis.

Barcelona had always remained adamant that their player is "non-transferrable", despite United's ongoing pursuit of the 26-year-old.

Fabregas' future had been cast into further doubt this week following the resignation of manager Tito Vilanova, as the former Catalan boss looks set to battle cancer for a second time. Former Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino is favourite to take the post following Vilanova's resignation.
