Left-back: Ashley Cole (Chelsea & England)
Ashley Cole has been renowned as the best left-back in world football for a number of years now. Some people may think this decision is a bit controversial because there are so many talented left backs around like; Marcelo, Jordi Alba, David Alaba and Leighton Baines, but I have chosen Cole mainly because in my opinion, he's the best defensive full back in the world.
The 32-year-old defender's first major and noticeable achievement was being a part of 'The Invincibles' in the 2003/04 Premier League season.
This was where under the management of Arsene Wenger, Arsenal went a whole season undefeated in the Premier League. Some say this will never be done again.
Cole has also reached a major honour at international level also, reaching his 100th cap for England against Brazil in February earlier in the year.
More recent achievements for Cole in his glistening career include a UEFA Champions League title in 2011/12 and last season he became a Europa League winner, beating Portuguese side Benfica.
If there was a flaw with Cole's game it would be his attacking nature. He is extremely good on the ball with class dribbling ability, however, his final ball is not the best and neither is his finishing. But he is a left-back, and not a striker so it's not all bad.
