Right-back: Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich & Germany)
Philipp Lahm, captain of the newly crowned champions of Europe Bayern Munich, had a terrific campaign last season, and lead Bayern Munich to the treble.
The 29-year-old full-back has the honour of captaining both club and country, and for a small person he has a lot of presence on the pitch.
Lahm is such an influential player on the pitch because he is quick, strong, aggressive, he's fantastic in possession and gives his attacking teammates an extra option by bursting up the wing.
The German international has not yet met the illustrious 100th cap for his country, but he's not far away. Lahm has made 98 appearances for Germany, scoring five goals.
Possibly Lahm's greatest honour was in 2006, when he was nominated for the FIFA Player of The Year following his outstanding performance in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Lahm, defensively is amazing, but if there was something he could improve on, maybe it would be his crossing. Compared to the likes of Leighton Baines, The German full-back cannot produce the balls the Everton defender can.
