Aston Villa give shirt to Duke of Cambridge

Published Add your comment

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, has received a football shirt from his favoured football team Aston Villa - as a gift for the recent new baby.

The shirt has the letters HRH on the back as well as the number one to signify the birth of his first child.

The son of Prince Charles is a huge Villa fan and attended the 2000 FA Cup clash between Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers and actually entered the dressing-room to congratulate the players for a good game after the match.

This is not the first time a gift has been sent to Prince William, presents were also sent for the Duke of Cambridge's 21st birthday.

He was also spotted over Christmas in 2011 wearing Aston Villa socks.

The FA has also given their congratulations, releasing a statement saying that 'it is truly wonderful news'.
