Southampton fans can look forward to the upcoming campaign with Mauricio Pochettino in charge.

So far this summer, Saints have invested in some top talents - the additions of Victor Wanyama and Dejan Lovren show the high the level of ambition currently is within the club, as well as a belief that the side can reach new heights in the coming years.

Second season syndrome is always a worry but Southampton should have no concern for this with the strength of their current squad.

There seems no real weakness on paper as they have quality throughout - Adam Lallana is, on his day, as good as any other playmaker in the league and Rickie Lambert’s ability to find the net puts him up there with the best of them.

Ultimately Southampton should easily avoid a relegation battle and could even push for a top half finish under Pochettino next season.
