Chelsea have completed the signing of Chile under-20 star Cristian Cuevas, according to Sky Sports.
The 18-year-old midfielder moves to Stamford Bridge from Chilean side O'Higgins. He impressed Chelsea coaches in a trial last year, and has now signed a contract at the club until 2018.
The deal was agreed in February, but has now been officially confirmed after Cuevas agreed to the contract.
He played in four of Chile's five games at this summer's U20 World Cup in Turkey, helping his national team to the quarter-finals.
The fee is undisclosed but reports in South America claim Chelsea offered O'Higgins an initial fee of £2.2m but the club wanted £3.4m.
Cuevas said: "I'm very happy. Chelsea were following me for more than a year. What I wanted happened, which was joining this club."
The teenager has already played in the Chilean top flight after breaking into the O'Higgins first-team two years ago.
Since then he's become a fixture in the under-20 national team alongside recent Manchester United recruit Angelo Henriquez.
Chelsea have one of the most successful youth teams in England, having won two of the past four FA Youth Cups - reaching the final in three of the past four.
