Arsenal have reportedly tabled an improved offer of £42 million for Liverpool's star striker Luis Suarez, according to Goal.com.
The Gunners had initially rejected bids of £30million and £35million but Arsene Wenger appears to have been given the green light to sign Suarez with a staggering offer.
It has been widely reported that Wenger has a transfer budget in excess of £70million to spend in order to reinforce his squad, who scraped over the line to secure UEFA Champions League football.
And with Suarez reiterating his desire to play against the greatest European teams Arsenal's offer of Champions League football could prove tempting for Suarez.
A proven goalscorer in the top flight, Suarez notched a total of 30 goals in 44 appearances last term despite being banned for the close of the season for his highly publicised bite on Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
This hasn't deterred Arsenal in the slightest as their pursuit of the Uruguayan frontman begins to hot up.
Wenger unquestionably has money to spend but whether to spend it on Suarez; who is viewed as a liability by many, remains a question many are asking.
Should Suarez move to Arsenal it would push the Gunners into the bracket of title contenders which just underlines the influence of Suarez.
His immense ability on the ball combined with his proven goalscoring ability makes Suarez a player who is high in demand.
Though if Arsenal were to slightly raise their £42million offer to the £45million mark it may just be enough to force Liverpool into sanctioning the sale of their prized asset.
