Philippe Coutinho has been an instant hit at Liverpool after his arrival from Inter Milan.
Since his arrival, Coutinho has been the man for Liverpool. He was bought for a fee of £8.5m, which is a modest fee given the impact he has made at Anfield.
Coutinho has made only 13 appearance for Liverpool in which he scored three goals and provided seven assists. He is also continuing his form in the pre-season matches for Liverpool.
The 21-year-old is considered a typical Brazilian number 10 with pace, trickery, flair, fantastic vision and an eye for goal. He has that vision and passing ability to unlock defences at will with mesmerising through balls, and does so on a consistent basis.
Coutinho was not selected for the Brazil squad which eventually won the Confederation Cup. But if he continues like this at Anfield he will surely secure a place in Brazil's 2014 World Cup squad.
In the previous season, the late inclusion of Daniel Sturridge and Coutinho was the best move by Brendan Rodgers. In the current window Iago Aspas, Kolo Toure, Luis Alberto are the new players added to the squad. Veteran Steven Gerrard is back in the squad after recovering from a shoulder injury.
Coutinho has been a standout performer for Liverpool since his arrival and Liverpool will count on him in the coming season to fight for a top-four spot in the Premier League.
