Centre-Back: Rio Ferdinand

Although he has lost some of the swagger that made him one of England's finest, Ferdinand is still a born leader. Despite his advancing years he has still made 26 appearances and maintains a level of steely determination that remains a rare quality to find.

He should still be considered an important part of Manchester United's first-team squad due to his massive experience, and will have an important part to play in David Moyes's debut campaign at Old Trafford.
