Manchester United slump to second pre-season defeat

Another game, another loss for David Moyes and his Manchester United side.

Life at United doesn't appear to be getting off to the greatest of starts on the playing front and the transfer front.

The match started off badly when Yokohama scored after 27 seconds through Marquinhos.

However, like the team last season, United turned it around quickly to 2-1 thanks to a Jesse Lingard tap-in and an own goal from defender Masakazu Tashiro.

The second half was a different story, though, with the Japanese side scoring quickly after the break and then again three minutes from time.

Moyes had warned his side before the game that this match would be gruelling, not only because of the intense heat and humidity.

Yokohama are in the middle of their domestic season and were therefore suitably prepared for the pre-season clash.

Nonetheless, no excuses could be made for another disappointing result and performance to match.
