Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc has told the French press that he expects Kevin Gameiro to join Sevilla.
Gameiro struggled to hold down a regular spot at the Parc des Princes because of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's incredible form last season. And now with the arrival of Edinson Cavani, the 26-year-old French striker has dropped even lower in PSG's pecking order.
Since the speculation and now arrival of Cavani, Gameiro has attracted a lot of different European clubs this summer.
Liverpool had been linked with a swoop for Gameiro, but reports in France suggest that he is now poised to make the move to Sevilla and could be set for a medical on Wednesday.
Sevilla's attacking options have been reduced dramatically after the sale of their star players Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navas both to Manchester City, but it looks like they will now bring in Gameiro.
PSG manager Blanc told L'Equipe: "I have appreciated this player for a long time, but it is his choice to leave and that choice seems to be compatible with the club's choice.
"A new adventure should start for him in Sevilla, if his transfer will be finalised."
Sevilla have money to spend following the departures of two of their key players, which could mean another sign another big name arriving in the coming weeks.
Gameiro, the 26-year-old striker, featured 33 times last season for the Ligue 1 champions, scoring nine goals and providing one goal. He has also made eight appearances for France, managing one goal.
However, before Gameiro's €11m move to PSG in 2011, he had a good goalscoring record for Lorient, where he scored 56 goals in 126 games for the club.
