Liverpool's owner John Henry has launched an astonishing attack on Premier League rivals Arsenal after their pursuit of striker Luis Suarez took another twist late last night.
The Gunners had an original £35million bid rejected by Liverpool for the Uruguayan striker and last night they had another bid rejected, but this time they offered £40,000,001.
The reason behind offering the extra £1 is because it activates a clause in Suarez's contract that obliges Liverpool to inform Suarez of the bid.
The wantaway striker has been very open about his desire to quit Anfield, but his opinion on England seems to have changed since Arsene Wenger showed real interest in him.
He originally stated that he wanted to leave England altogether because of his reputation being damaged and because of his family being unsettled, but now it looks like he would be open to stay in the Premier League if Arsenal and Liverpool can agree a fee.
It is thought that the Reds want around £50million for the Uruguayan, but it is not clear if Wenger is prepared to go that high.
After offering the cheeky sum of £40,000,001 Liverpool's owner Henry took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the bid.
He said: "What do you think they're smoking over there at Emirates?"
