According to the Daily Star, Everton are interested in signing Austrian forward Philipp Hosiner from Austria Wien.

The 24-year-old was top scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga last season, with 32 goals on his way to collecting a league winner’s medal.

Back in March he bagged his first two International goals against the Faroe Islands, and now both Everton and Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in signing him.

With a £4m price tag, Roberto Martinez would add him to other summer arrivals Gerard Deulofleu, Joel Robles, Antolin Alcaraz and Arouna Kone.

There haven’t been too many players leaving the club either, with Thomas Hitzlsperger, Jan Mucha and Phil Neville being the only first team members to make Goodison Park exits.

It seems that Martinez still wants to bolster his side though, and the arrival of Hosiner would compliment the Toffees’ existing attacking options.

Last season, Nikica Jelavic struggled to regularly find the back of the net and the new manager will want a striker that he can rely on to score consistently.
