Gareth Bale has asked for a transfer, according to reports in Spain.
The most anticipated transfer of the summer has been brought to life again, and the only destination was Real Madrid, who have shown a great interest in the player for a long time.
Real Madrid are on the verge of making a world record bid of £85m for the Welsh superstar, and it is quite clear that Tottenham now have to consider this seriously, because one day or another Bale has to depart.
The Santiago Bernabeu has always been the destination of the world’s best players, and if Bale signs, he would be the latest addition to their squad of superstars.
Manchester United were said to have made an offer of £60m for Bale, but that did not meet Spurs' valuation.
Bale scored 21 goals last season, which helped guide Spurs to fifth place in the Premier League, only marginally behind fourth placed Arsenal.
He also won PFA player’s player of the year and FWA footballer of the year, but it is proving difficult to keep the 24-year-old away from the lure of Champions League football.
A transfer to Madrid would also see him reunite with his old team-mate Luka Modric.
Along with that, Bale could join a star-studded team, which comprises of players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka’, Mesut Ozil, Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos.
A deal would eclipse the previous record of £80m, which Real invested on Ronaldo in 2009.
