Lyon star scores 'no-look' volley against Real Madrid

Published 4 Comments

Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier scored a sensational 'no-look' volley against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

The France international looked the other way as he dispatched a stunning 18-yard volley past Madrid keeper Diego Lopez.

At the time of writing, Lyon led 1-0 at half-time against the nine-time European champions.

And they've both got some big-names on show in this pre-season friendly. New Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti handed starts to Pepe, Isco, Angel Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil.

Recent €38m signing Asier Illarramendi also takes his place in central midfield in the absence of Xabi Alonso and Sami Khedira.

As for Lyon, they gave starts to Lisandro Lopez - reportedly a target for Tottenham - and Maxime Gonalons as well as Griener - a one-time Arsenal target.

He's since committed to Lyon, and has signed a new deal at the club. They will be pleased to have got him tied down now, after goals like this.
