Five of the best: New attacking forces (2)

Edinson Cavani & Zlatan Ibrahimovic | Paris Saint-Germain

PSG wrestled the free-scoring Uruguayan Cavani from Napoli for a French club record fee of £55.6 million last week, The Guardian reports.

The arrival of Cavani has sparked fierce speculation that Ibrahimovic, the club’s main man last season, is now surplus to requirements and ready to jump ship.

However, the Swedish striker insists he will remain in Paris to partner the former Napoli man next season:

"There should be no reason for my situation to change in the summer," Ibrahmovic said.

“We will talk details, and I am very confident I know what will happen."

Although quite similar in style, the sheer quality of both men should prevent the pair from cancelling each other out if deployed together upfront.

It will be fascinating to see whether or not Laurent Blanc can achieve harmony between the two big-name strikers– both on and off the pitch.
