Five of the best: New attacking forces (5)

Alvaro Negredo & Stevan Jovetic | Manchester City

Despite costing a combined total of almost £50 million, Jovetic and Negredo are not by any means guaranteed to start every match next season.

Both strikers are likely to feature as part of a star-studded rotation policy that also includes Sergio Agüero and Edin Džeko, with all its occupants vying for Manuel Pellegrini’s selection in the big fixtures.

Manchester City have already splashed nearly £100m in the current transfer window in a bid to revitalise a side that lacked the guile and killer instinct of their 2011/2012 title winning campaign.

It remains to be seen whether or not Jovetic, Negredo, Jesus Navas and Fernandinho will be the only new faces at the Etihad next season, but the confirmed acquisitions will certainly boost their chances of reclaiming the Premier League crown.
