Gary Hooper is poised to complete his move from Celtic to Norwich City, according to BBC Sport.
Hooper will become the seventh signing of a productive summer for the Canaries, who have also signed Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Leroy Fer, Javier Garrido, Nathan Redmond, Martin Olsson and Carlo Nash.
Harry Redknapp's QPR had a bid, believed to be around the £5m mark, accepted yesterday and were close to sealing a deal which would be widely viewed as a coup for a striker who has finished as Celtic's top goalscorer for three years in a row.
However, Norwich matched QPR's bid early on Thursday morning, and it would appear that the allure of Premier League football was too much for the English striker, who has previously played for Scunthorpe United, Southend United and Grays Athletic.
This will come as a blow to Redknapp, who has been attempting to rebuild his squad after their disappointing season last year culminated in relegation from the Premier League.
Norwich fans will be delighted by another stellar signing, and will be hoping manager Chris Hughton can make a dangerous partnership out of Hooper and Van Wolfswinkel, both of whom have proven themselves to be prolific goalscorers in their own right.
