Liverpool wantaway striker Luis Suarez seems to be heading for the Anfield exit door, with Arsenal reportedly keen on the 26-year-old's services.
That would leave Liverpool with only Daniel Sturridge and summer signing Iago Aspas. Sturridge still has a lot to prove in terms of his fitness and consistency, meanwhile Aspas is new to the English game, and may take a while to settle in his new surroundings.
Jackson Martinez, FC Porto's Colombian hot shot may be just the man Brendan Rodgers turns his attentions towards to help fire Liverpool to that top four finish they crave so much.
Martinez was prolific in his first season at Porto and has attracted a wealth of interest for his services - with the likes of Spurs, Napoli and Liverpool keen on his signature.
Powerfully built, he is a different type of striker compared to Suarez; Martinez is more of a target man but he also has great feet for a big man.
The 26-year-old managed 26 goals in 30 appearances for Porto last year in which he ended up as the league's top scorer. Martinez also has a very good international record with 18 caps and 8 goals, and is part of the new golden generation of Colombian footballers along with the likes of Monaco new boys James Rodriguez and Falcao.
Martinez has recently stated that he is keen to remain in Portugal with Porto, but if Liverpool did decide to cash in on Luis Suarez, a big money offer to Porto - and the chance for Martinez to test himself in a more competitive league - just might be enough to persuade the Colombian international to make the move to Anfield.
