According to The Guardian, Norwich City have stolen the lead on Celtic striker Gary Hooper, who played such a pivotal role in the European run which Celtic went on last season - beating the likes of Barcelona at Celtic Park and a home and away double over Spartak Moscow.
The Englishman was rumoured to be heading to London to play for QPR under Harry Redknapp after the club has a bid accepted for Hooper.
Harry Redknapp backed the forward to ensure a quick return to the Premier League for the Hoops.
But Norwich's late intervention leaves his Loftus Road move in doubt, with the player given a choice between the two clubs.
Hooper wants to play in the Premier League and was due for a medical at Norwich yesterday (Thursday).
During his spell at Scunthrope United, where he scored 43 goals in 80 appearances, Hooper earned himself a prestigious move to Celtic for the sum of £2.4 million.
The Hoops forward has already featured in Europe this season, making an appearance against Cliftonville of Belfast in the Champions League second leg in Glasgow on Tuesday. He’s been Celtic's top scorer in each of the last three seasons and has one year remaining on his contract.
Hooper would be Norwich's seventh signing of the summer following the arrivals of Leroy Fer, Martin Olsson, Carlo Nash, Nathan Redmond, Javier Garrido, Semi Ajayi and Ricky Van Wolfswinkel.
