NBA superstar LeBron James has been given the freedom to create the 'NBA 2K14' video game sound track.
The games producer 2K Sports confirmed that James had selected 20 tracks for the game which is set to be released in October.
James was delighted when his role as cover star was revealed last month in a statement hw said: "I love partnerships and opportunities that connect me directly with fans.
I know from my own experience and now watching my own kids, NBA 2K is among the coolest and purest ways for fans to connect to the NBA. I love being a part of it."
Now he's gone one better and is physically involved in the process with his role as chief soundtrack creator and the two-time NBA champion confirmed in a statement that he was honoured to be the first cover athlete to choose the tracks behind the game.
"2K is letting me take control of some important elements in NBA 2K14, including the year's soundtrack," continued James.
"I love that I'm the first NBA 2K cover athlete to choose the soundtrack."
The two-time Olympic gold medalist emulates friend and rapper Jay-Z, who was the executive producer of last year's installment.
James won his fourth MVP last season as he led the Miami Heat to their second consecutive championship.
He's widely regarded to be the best player in the world, and was the highest rated player on the previous year's version of the game - NBA 2K13.
