Everton were left blushing at the grand unveiling of their new star signing, Gerard Deulofeu, as they spelt his name wrong.
Deulofeu is widely regarded to be player of future world-class potential, and was signed by new boss Roberto Martinez on a season-long loan from Barcelona.
The capture of Deulofeu is considered something of a masterstroke by the former Wigan boss, but it may just have been overshadowed by the spelling mistake.
The blunder took place during the unveiling of Everton's new strip for the forthcoming season, of which Deulofeu has been handed the number ten shirt.
Rather than reading 'Deulofeu' however, the characters printed on the back of the shirt read 'Deufoleu'.
The error was quickly picked up on by fans who were visiting the Everton club store, and subsequently went viral after being put on Twitter.
Although the majority of the fans will see the funny side of the howler, there may be some cause for concern if the rest of Everton's pre-seasonal organisation starts to follow suit.
