Franck Ribery, Manuel Neuer and Mario Gotze are set to miss Bayern Munich's clash with Borussia Dortmund this weekend.
In a repeat of last season's Champions League final, the two German clubs go head-to-head in Saturday's Super Cup. The match will be Pep Guardiola's first competitive match in charge of the Bavarians and he is set to be without some key players.
Talisman Ribery and goalkeeper Neuer are amongst the injured, whilst ex-Dortmund midfielder Gotze is still recovering from the injury that kept him out of the Champions League final at the end of last season.
Guardiola also has concerns over the fitness of Bastian Schweinsteiger who only returned from injury recently.
"Bastian will travel with us but we do not know yet if he can play. He has only a few training sessions under his belt," Guardiola told reporters.
The two Bundesliga heavyweights will fight it out again in Saturday's final, and the former Barcelona manager recognised the game represents an important fixture for the club.
"You have no excuse if you are Bayern coach," he added.
"A final is a final and you have no second chances on Saturday."
Arjen Robben's late winner gave his side the win in their clash in May, but the Spaniard was full of respect for this weekend's opponents, and will use the game as a barometer of his side's preparation for the upcoming campaign.
"It is never easy against Dortmund, they play a good game, with a lot of possession.
"We want to see at what level we are at and plan both for the game and beyond."
