Guardiola slaps Thiago as Bayern lose Super Cup
Pep Guardiola lost his first competitive game in charge of Bayern Munich after a 4-2 Super Cup defeat to Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund avenged their Champions League final defeat to Bayern Munich last night as two goals from Marco Reus helped Jurgen Klopp's side to German Super Cup glory.
In Pep Guardiola's first competitive game in charge of the treble winners he saw his side go 1-0 down in just seven minutes as Reus headed in from close range.
Dortmund held their advantage until eight minutes into the second-half as Arjen Robben, who scored the winner in the Champions League final in May, equalised for the Bavarians.
However, just minutes later, Dortmund were back in front after Ilkay Guendogan's cross was turned into its own net by Daniel van Buyten. Guendogan then took over the show as his fine solo effort found the net to give Dortmund a two goal advantage.
Robben again brought the German champions back into the game as he hammered the ball into the net to make it 3-2.
This time Dortmund were to gain victory over Bayern as Reus put the final nail in the coffin as his second goal of the game completed the scoring and gave Dortmund a 4-2 victory.
Klopp's side gained the first piece of silverware of the season, putting an early marker down on their rivals.
The game also saw Guardiola appear to slap new Bayern star Thiago Alcantara - as can be seen below.
