Top 10: Defenders of the 2012/13 Premier League season (11)

Published 3 Comments

1. Leighton Baines (Everton)

Leighton Baines was by far the Premier League's best defender last season. His stats surpass those of his colleagues with a pass completion rate of 83% and five goals to his name. He also created an astounding 116 chances for his team, out of which 111 have been key passes and the remaining five assists.

Baines had a remarkable shot accuracy of 57%, which isn't at all bad for a defender. The England international impressed with his intelligence and strength on the pitch.

He certainly was the stand-out defender of the season.
