Romelu Lukaku to stay at Chelsea.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku is a part of his plans for the upcoming season.

Lukaku - who played for West Bromwich Albion last season on a loan deal from Chelsea - has yet to prove himself with the Blues after an outstanding season at The Hawthorns in 2012/13.

Lukaku managed 35 league caps with West Brom, scoring 17 goals, making him the sixth-highest goal scorer in the Premier League last year.

With Chelsea already signing Andre Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, it will be interesting to see if Lukaku can prove himself as a number one choice for Mourinho, with Fernando Torres and Demba Ba already competing for the spot.

Netting three goals in three matches during the pre-season matches, Lukaku seems to be impressing his new boss at Chelsea.

Kevin De Bruyne who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge will also be staying according to Mourinho. De Bruyne, who had an impressive last season with Werder Bremen, has yet to play a competitive match for the Blues.
