Football News

The former Roma and Italy midfielder was born in England where his parents Francesco and Anne Maria ran a pub in Manchester before the family moved to Italy in 1982.

Simone Perrotta rose through the ranks of Serie B outfit Reggina, then made the leap to the top flight of Italian football in 1998 with a move to Juventus, making his debut for the Italy U21 side in the same year.

He then played for Bari and Chievo, before beginning a long career in the capital - the midfielder enjoyed nine years with Roma. Perrotta also featured in 48 internationals for Italy and played in every game of their 2006 World Cup winning campaign.
