Pepe Reina has slammed Liverpool for the manor in which his loan move to Napoli was conducted labeling it "disappointing."
The Spain international claims he wasn’t informed of the deal to the Serie A side until it had been completed and accused the club of showing him a lack of respect.
“It’s only natural I’d be disappointed Liverpool agreed to loan me without telling me first.
“I thought I deserved better than that”, Reina said in a letter to Liverpool supporters.
Reina, 30, has re-joined former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez in Naples on a season-long loan following the £9million arrival of Simon Mignolet from Sunderland.
The Spaniard was hoping for a move to Barcelona, as Victor Valdes looked likely to leave the Catalan club. However, when Valdes announced he wanted to see out his final year of his contract, the move to the Nou Camp disappeared.
Since the Spanish international arrived at Anfield he has made 394 appearances in eight years winning the FA Cup in 2006, the League Cup in 2012 and played in the Champions League final in 2007.
