Nani linked with move to Ligue 2 champions Monaco

Vadim Vasilyev, the director of Monaco has claimed that the club has been offered to sign Manchester United winger Nani.

Portuguese winger Nani endured a tough 2012-13 season with Manchester United, only appearing seven times and his form being affected due to injuries.

As a result of this, the 26 year-old has been linked with a possible lucrative move away from Old Trafford and towards the big-spending Monaco.

Monaco have already signed an array of football stars with the likes of Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho and Eric Abidal to name a few.

And Vasilyev has stated that they may not be done yet, suggesting in L'Equipe that Monaco could be the place for Nani: “He is a very good player, but there have been no talks so far. He has been proposed to us.

“We have already changed our group quite a bit and we also want to offer opportunities to our young players. We still have time to make a few alterations before the end of the transfer window, if needed,” he revealed to the French newspaper.

Nani had been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo early in his career, especially after also joining Manchester United, and he has since made 212 appearances for United and scored 40 goals.
