Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Argentine playmaker Javier Pastore.
The Daily Star claims Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has set his sights on the Paris Saint-Germain star as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale – if the Welsh wing wizard leaves for Real Madrid.
Pastore moved to the Parc des Princes in the summer of 2011, joining the Ligue 1 outfit in a £36million switch from Serie ‘A’ Palermo.
And, the 24-year-old has flourished in the French capital, impressing both domestically and in the Champions League for PSG.
His form has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League, and the paper claims Spurs’ director of football, Franco Baldini, has already made enquiries over the player’s availability this summer.
Whilst Tottenham Hotspur do not want to lose Bale, the 13-cap Argentine international would add versatility to the team’s midfield, with the former Huracan star able to play through the middle or out wide.
He’d also join new signing Paulinho in a Spurs midfield capable of challenging the very best in England.
