David Hunt & Ben Smith

David Hunt: Still a firm favourite at the Broadfield. After the game at Old Trafford he revealed he had been wearing nail varnish during the clash. In his diary on his website, he explained: “I was reminded by my daughter that I still had nail varnish on from when she painted them before I left for Manchester for good luck. I wonder if I’m the only player to have worn nail varnish at Old Trafford?”

Ben Smith: Now a teacher at Maltings Academy in Essex. In January 2012, he joined Aldershot Town on loan and that May he was released by Crawley after being deemed surplus to requirements. Now aged 34, as well as his teaching job, having earned himself a degree in business management, he has played non-league football for AFC Sudbury and Thurrock.
