Kaka has now spent four seasons at Real Madrid. After the injury he suffered during the 2010 World Cup, he has struggled to secure a place in the squad.

Kaka is the man who has only suffered at Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho had lost faith in him and he was seen on bench for most of the time last season.

The former Brazil captain was brought for a fee of €65m from AC Milan, but he was never able to prove that worth. Last season was the biggest disappointment for him as he got much less playing time.

Many people do believe that Kaka did not got chances he deserved under Mourinho, who used to prefer Mesut Ozil, Angel di Maria and Sami Khedira over him.

Kaka did give some satisfactory performances from the little chances he got. With that he was recalled twice for international duty.

The 2007 World Footballer of the Year was not selected in Brazil’s squad for Confederation Cup. Last term Kaka scored five goals and provided four assists from only 27 games he got to play. This can be regarded as the worst season in his career.

Real Madrid have already brought Isco and Asier Illarramendi to their midfield which already has Xabi Alonso, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Luka Modric, Angel di Maria and Kaka himself.

It would be very difficult for 31-year-old Kaka to break into the starting eleven with such competition. Carlo Ancelotti has assured to bring the best out of him and he is being given special training.

Next season is very important for Kaka to re-shape his career and earn a place back in the Brazil squad for the 2014 World Cup finals on home soil.
