Manchester United and Chelsea have a potential battle on their respective hands if they hope to land Viktor Fischer after the Ajax starlet emerged as a reported target for Roma.
The 19-year-old has established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe and, according to talkSPORT, his performances have led Roma to register their interest.
Roma have emerged as the leading contenders to sign Fischer, although the interest of the Italian outfit may well prompt Manchester United and Chelsea to ramp up their pursuits of the Dane.
Manchester United and Chelsea are both reported to have dispatched scouts to watch Fischer in action last term, although it is unclear if any formal approaches have been made to sign him.
Chelsea are likely to have identified their forward ranks as a key area for reinforcement given the respective inconsistencies of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, while Fischer scored an impressive 10 goals in 23 games last season.
The Blues, however, like Manchester United are reported not to have outlined Fischer as a priority signing, which places Roma very much in the running to sign him.
Ajax, though, remain in a strong bargaining position should Roma make their move for the player, with Fischer contracted to the Eredivisie champions until 2017.
