Pachuca's unbeaten start to the 2013/14 campaign is over following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Tijuana in the Mexican top-flight on Tuesday evening.
The home side took the lead thanks to a well-taken strike by Diego Olsina, but can count themselves lucky to have secured all three points, after Pachuca full-back Jorge Iván Estrada had a goal cruelly ruled out as officials failed to spot that the ball had crossed the line.
Receiving the ball 35-yards out after Tijuana failed to fully clear their lines, the 29-year-old took one touch to set himself before unleashing a fearsome drive into the top left corner.
The ball smashed the crossbar and bounced down behind the goal-line before rebounding away from danger, and being played out for a corner.
Replays showed that the effort should have stood, but despite muted appeals from the Pachuca players, the referee and linesman deemed it a no-goal, and ultimately defended Tijuana's 1-0 advantage.
The result leaves Pachuca in second place in the Liga MX table with six points from three games, while Tijuana are up to fourth with four points having played a game less.
