The Premier League's underrated players (5)

2- Brad Guzan | Aston Villa

The American international Guzan has displaced Shay Given as Aston Villa's first choice keeper under Paul Lambert and he has not disappointed.

Many were sceptical about the decision to drop Given for the 28-year-old, but Guzan was one of the top performing goal-keepers in the Premier League last season.

Although Belgium star Christian Benteke was the star for Aston Villa last season, Guzan was such a major factor as to why Villa were not relegated to the Championship. The club ended up five points clear last season which was terrible for such a big club.

There was a certain 8-0 defeat to Chelsea which the American goal-keeper was a part of, but in that game he made some outstanding saves and without him they could have lost over by over 10 goals which would have been the biggest deficit in a league game I have ever seen.

At only 28-years-old, the American still has a lot to offer and I expect him to be a key player for Villa again.
