Sir Alex Ferguson’s tenure at Manchester United will probably never be matched by any manager in the Premier League, but the United faithful are expecting big things from David Moyes.

Manchester United is arguably the most famous and successful club in the world and are expected to win trophies every season without fail.

David Moyes has never won a major trophy in his time as a manager. He guided Preston North End to a play-off final where they were easily swept to the side by a ruthless Bolton Wanderers and trophies during his 11-year tenure as Everton manager.

His work with Everton was nothing short of incredible, taking them from a bottom half team to regularly challenging for European football but Manchester United fans do not believe that this is enough to warrant the hot seat at Old Trafford, taking to the social media site Twitter to voice their opinions.

Several fans have already stated their desire to see Moyes leave the club but without one competitive match played, why are United fans judging the Scot already?

No Manchester United manager has ever won a trophy in their first two seasons in charge. This probably won’t change, but every manager needs time at a club to adapt their managerial skills.

Time is something that is not being granted to managers in the top flight.

Clubs are too quick to change managers after a bad run of results.

With all this pressure being put on the new Manchester United manager, will it get too much for Moyes?

Many are of the belief he is not good enough to take charge of a team with such prestige. If Moyes is not successful in winning a trophy in his first season, the worst thing the United board could do is  sack him.

There is two ways this can go. Moyes can thrive or crumble under the pressure. The saddening thing is that some are hoping for the latter.
