Houston Rockets rookie Terrence Jones was arrested in the early hour of Wednesday morning after allegedly subjecting a homeless man in Portland to both verbal and physical abuse.
KATU reports that Jones had been at a nightclub called Tube with friends and proceeded to approach the man, identified as 46-year-old Daniel John Kellerher, who had been sheltering in a nearby doorway.
Jones is then alleged to have yelled at Kellerher to 'wake up' before stamping on the legs of the victim, who received a minor injury but was not required to receive immediate medial attention.
The 21-year-old Rockets power forward was subsequently charged with harassment and is scheduled to appear in court next Tuesday at 2pm to respond to the claims made against him.
Jones was the 18th overall pick by Houston in the 2012 NBA Draft, but spent the majority of his maiden season as a professional in the development league where he played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
The former Jefferson High School star played in only 19 regular season games for the Rockets, during which he averaged 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds.
