After a teaser of what Friday has to hold for Barca fans, Neymar, after playing for near ten minutes on his debut for the Catalan giants, gave a performance worthy of the stripes.

Now the inevitable question comes up if whether or not Neymar and Messi will be able to work together against the former club of the Brazilian, and possibly the rest of the season.

Many of the fans would have wanted to see the two play alongside each other on Tuesday to see how they’d get along on his debut but it wasn’t on the agenda. Now all eyes and the attention of most of the of the football world is being placed on Friday when Neymar faces Santos in Barcelona at the Camp Nou for the Joan Gamper trophy.

Now the question comes up, if whether or not Messi and Neymar will have a good partnership throughout the rest of the season. If they could be the greatest strike duo of this generation?

From my view, I believe that they will be. I believe that this is possible because Neymar has many of footballing traits of the top two players in the world currently - Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

If a chart were to be drawn up of the greatest talents presently, Neymar would fall in third, just ahead of Gareth Bale and just below Ronaldo. With such an amazing amount of talent at such a young age, it would take nothing for Neymar to adapt to Messi and somehow, I believe that Messi would adapt to Neymar.

It would be a stretch of the imagination to envisage the duo dancing on the sidelines as Neymar traditionally does in Brazil. It will all take some time but when that does happen, and it will happen, the entire football world would recognise the arrival of the greatest duo ever seen.
