As Manchester United continue their search for a summer signing who will help to epitomise the type of first season Manchester United want to have with David Moyes, Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo remains a major transfer target for the Red Devils.
Daily Mail,According to the Manchester United have an interest in the 28-year-old and may look to avoid a backlash if they fail to sign Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas. Manchester United are all too familiar with Cristiano Ronaldo's brilliance and would surely be willing to pay a seriously large amount of money to get the Portuguese trickster back to Old Trafford.
Although the English champions already have a truly impressive number of clinical goal scorers, the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo could certainly boost their goal tally dramatically. After missing out on the Premier League title in the 2011-12 campaign due to goal difference, Manchester United knew that the goal for the following summer would be to buy a top class striker.
Robin Van Persie was that top class striker and evident by his astonishing performances last season, he certainly lived up to the high expectations.
Although Manchester United continue to bid for Cesc Fabregas, they will certainly be focusing on Ronaldo too. It appears very unlikely, but if Cristiano Ronaldo was to make an incredible return to Old Trafford, the combination of goal scorers that Manchester United would possess would be too hot to handle. Ronaldo scored 118 goals for Manchester United in six seasons. If he were to return, he would definitely increase that number.
