The Catalan giants Barcelona have made it clear to all clubs interested in Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez that he will not leave the Camp Nou.
Barcelona have issued a statement that Alexis will not be allowed to leave the Camp Nou this summer.
Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu made it clear that the 24-year-old is still very much a big part of their squad and plans going forward under new manager Gerardo Martino.
Bartomeu told El Mecurio: "He's not for sale. We are confident in his ability. It is speculated so much that he might leave, but there is nothing-no formal offers have arrived for the player and he will remain here. We are pleased with his performances and will not put him on the market.'
Bartomeu's words may not be too convincing to his suitors but maybe if a reasonable offer comes in then he may well leave the club.
Barcelona recently extended the contract of Cristian Tello and with the acqusition of Neymar and Ibrahim Affelay coming back from loan at Schalke, Alexis may well be playing elsewhere if a good offer comes in.
At the moment however he will remain a Barcelona player. The Chilean has failed to live up to the expectations after some excellent performances for Udinese in the Italian Serie A.T he 24-year-old is yet to set the Camp Nou alight and hasn't shown the reason the Blaugrana spent €26m on his signature.
Alexis Sanchez is contracted to Barcelona until 2016 and will be hoping to improve and stake a claim for a place in the first eleven.
He is about to enter the third year of his contract and should now be used to the pessures and demands of being a Barcelona player.
