Paris-Saint-Germain are attempting to thwart Chelsea’s chances of signing Bruma from Sporting Lisbon, according to the Express.

The winger was the subject of an £8m from the Blues in July, but the French champions have now entered the race for his signature.

Representatives of the 18-year- have been trying to agree a new contract with Sporting, and his current deal was said to have ran out last month, but his club were adamant that a clause in the contract allowed it to be automatically renewed.

The uncertainty over the Portuguese’s future will prevent PSG from making a bid for the time being, but they will continue to monitor the situation.

Galatasaray were also reported to be interested, but they have since cooled on the idea of signing the talented youngster.

Bruma is keen to leave the club he has been at since the age of 12, and he wants to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

He could have plenty of choices should he choose to leave the Estadio Jose Alvalade, with Inter Milan, Marseille and Manchester City also tracking him.
