Cristiano Ronaldo played the first 45 minutes of Real Madrid's friendly with LA Galaxy, and set-up a goal, amidst speculation that he could soon be leaving the Bernabeu.
The Portuguese star showed brilliant control to lay off a long ball into the path of winger Angel Di Maria, who delightfully chipped the ball over the charging Brian Rowe.
Reports linking Ronaldo with a return to Manchester United emerged in the British press today, but he was seemingly unfazed by that, and also struck the bar with a header before he was substituted off for Karim Benzema.
And his replacement was in clinical form as he bagged two goals to clinch victory for the touring team. Benzema's first was a cool finish into the bottom corner, before he sealed the win with a free header at the back post late on.
With the score at 2-0, Galaxy did get one back courtesy of a stunning Jose Villareal strike. The American teenager skipped away from the Madrid defence, before firing into the top corner across Diego Lopez's goal.
But the reprieve was short-lived, and the French forward soon put the result beyond doubt to set-up a fixture with Everton this weekend.
