Nottingham Forest take on Huddersfield at the City Ground tomorrow to kick off their SkyBet Championship season.
Billy Davies has imprinted his own mark on the squad in this summer's transfer window, signing six new players. Forest came agonisingly close to a spot in the play-off's last season, but were pipped to sixth place after they lost to Leicester City on the final day of last season.
Forest manager Billy Davies is expected to have all of his players available at his disposal for tomorrow's clash, and could potentially hand debuts to new signings Djamel Abdoun, Jamie Paterson, Jamie Mackie, Eric Lichaj and Dorus de Vries.
Striker Darius Henderson and Gonzalo Jara Reyes have both had their loan deals made into permanent deals, furthermore enhancing the depth of Billy Davies' squad.
Mark Robin's Huddersfield side have strengthened their squad considerably over the summer with some impressive signings including Martin Paterson joining from Burnley and James Vaughan from Norwich City.
The former Burnley striker, Paterson, is expected to start up-front alongside last season's Huddersfield player of the season James Vaughan.
New signing Jonathan Hogg is also expected to make his debut for the Terriers, with winger Adam Hammill also expected to start the game at the City Ground.
Jon Stead, a summer signing from League One side Bristol City, has a chance of being in the squad for the season opener after recovering from a groin injury. Defenders Anthony Gerrard and Calum Woods plus midfielders Keith Southern and Anton Robinson are all set to miss out due to injury.
Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield have met on 40 times in the league with Huddersfield amassing 16 wins compared to 12 wins for the Reds.
