Tottenham track Manchester United star Nani

Tottenham will target Manchester United winger Nani if Gareth Bale leaves for Real Madrid, according to Sports Direct News.

Spurs are currently locked in talks with Madrid over the possibility of Bale leaving White Hart Lane for a world record £105million fee.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas would be well equipped to bring in players of Nani's calibre if Bale was to leave for the Spanish capital.

And reports suggest Villas-Boas has made fellow countryman Nani his number one target.

Nani has failed to hold down a first-team spot at Old Trafford and faces competition from the likes of Ashley Young and Manchester United new-boy Wilfried Zaha next season.

With the aforementioned duo and Antonio Valencia already at David Moyes' disposal, United are likely to accept a bid in the region of £15million for the Portuguese international.

Nani had been linked with a move to Monaco earlier this summer - but he has since hinted he would be staying at Manchester United.
